Poker Hand rankings
Poker Hands tells us about ranking of cards in poker. In Poker players have to set hands of five cards according to the rules, which may change according to the poker being played. Poker Hands are compared using a system called Standard Ranking System. The Player having higher poker hand ranking is declared as the winner of that particular deal. The strength of the hand is increased when you have multiple cards of same rank, and all the cards from same suit, or all the cards with continuous values.

1. Straight Flush: Straight Flush is a Poker Hand which contains five cards in series and all are from same suit. For example 3, 4,5,6,7 cards from heart in. Two hands can be compared, two identical straight flushes tie like 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of tree symbol ties with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 of heart in. Ace straight high flush is known as “ROYAL FLUSH”.
2. Four of a Kind: It is also known as quads, containing four cards of same rank. Here higher ranking quads defeat the lower ranking quads.
3. Full House: It is also known as full boat, which contains three matching cards of one rank, and two matching cards of another rank.
4. Flush: It is poker hand having five cards of same suit but not in rank sequence. Two flushes are compared and the highest ranking card of each are said to be the winner.
5. Straight: It is a poker hand having five cards of sequential rank but from more than one suit. Straights are compared by highest rank of each.
6. Three of a kind: It is also called as Trips, or Set. It contains three cards of same rank and two unmatched cards.
7. Two Pair: Two pair is nothing but two cards of same rank, two cards of another rank plus one unmatched card.
8. One Pair: It contains two cards of same rank plus three unmatched cards.
9. High Card: It is also called as no pair. It contains no two cards of same rank, the five cards are also not in series and the five cards are also not from the same suit. It also has names like nothing, garbage.
